The green and digital transformation as well as geopolitical risks give new significance to industrial policy, in which subsidies serve as a central control instrument. This has brought national and international subsidy regulations increasingly into the focus of legal practice. National frameworks and bilateral and multilateral agreements containing subsidy-related provisions are increasingly characterising the legal landscape. Despite the need for reform, WTO subsidy law remains an authoritative legal framework, while other legal instruments are gaining in importance due to the deadlock in WTO negotiations.
This Handbook addresses the enormous importance of international subsidies in practice.
