Über 90 Prozent der Kinder unter sechs Jahren in Deutschland gehen in eine Kindertageseinrichtung. Dabei sind Einrichtungen in Trägerschaft der EKD und Diakonie selbstverständlich Teil der Trägervielfalt im subsidiären System. Es stellt sich die Frage, ob und inwiefern sich evangelische Einrichtungen von jenen in anderer Trägerschaft unterscheiden. Eine Analyse aus systemtheoretischer Perspektive, die evangelische Kindertageseinrichtungen als Kopplungskonstrukt von Religions- und Erziehungssystem, dem System Sozialer Hilfen und dem "System Familie" betrachtet zielt auf die Beantwortung dieser Frage ab. Sie liefert Indikatoren einer "protestantischen Profilbildung" sowie Hinweise auf die besondere Leistung evangelischer Einrichtungen. Institutions sponsored by the EKD and Diakonie are of course part of the diversity of sponsors in the subsidiary system. The question arises as to whether and to what extent Protestant institutions differ from those run by other organizations. An analysis from a systems theory perspective that views Protestant daycare centers as a coupling construct of the religious and educational system, the social assistance system and the "family system" aims to answer this question.
