Der Band versammelt zwölf Aufsätze, die aus einem breiten Spektrum an Perspektiven den Begründungsmöglichkeiten eines protestantischen Familienbegriffs nachgehen. Im Diskurs mit neueren sozialphilosophischen wie sozialwissenschaftlichen Ansätzen fokussieren die Beiträge übergreifend die Frage, ob und, wenn ja, wie sich ein spezifisch theologischer Begriff von Familie konturieren lässt. Dazu kommen allgemeine Grundlegungsfragen (Begriff der Familie), spezielle Familienformen (Eltern-Kind-Beziehung, Geschwisterbeziehung, Patenschaft) sowie die Diversität von Lebensformen (Intersexualität, queer families) zur Sprache. Moraltheoretisch leisten die Studien insofern einen Beitrag für ein vertieftes Verständnis grundsätzlicher Fragen der Familienethik. [A Protestant Concept of Family? Theological and Socio-philosophical Reflections on a Controversial Concept]The volume contains 12 essays that explore the possibilities of a Protestant concept of family from a wide range of perspectives. In a discourse with newer social philosophical and social scientific approaches, the contributions focus on the question of whether and how a specific theological concept of family can be contoured. In addition, general basic questions (concept of family), special family forms (parent-child relationship, sibling relationship, godparenthood) as well as the diversity of life forms (intersexuality, queer families) are discussed. In this regard, the studies contribute to a deeper understanding of fundamental questions of family ethics.
