On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation many people in Germany once again raise the question, why the Catholic and the Protestant Church still are divided. The development since the historical division of the churches, has it not led to a broad consensus? Should the churches in the light of decreasing membership come together again? Many talk about ecumenism - but how could it look like locally, and what concrete steps could be taken in the congregations today?
