Was ist Praktische Theologie? Ausgehend von der pfarrberuflichen Ausbildungssituation, besonders der zweiten Phase, in der erste Schritte der Praxis mit methodischer Reflexion zusammengehen, wird Praktische Theologie als "Theologie der Praxis" verstanden. Ihr Gegenstand ist laut Schleiermacher die Mitteilung des Glaubens oder anderes gesagt: die Kommunikation des Evangeliums im Licht des menschgewordenen Wortes.
Das "hermeneutische Dreieck" der Kommunikation des Evangeliums wird hier als Sprachhandlung verstanden, auf deren Grundlage die klassischen Themen der Christologie sprachwissenschaftlich analysiert werden. Diesem Gegenstand der Praktischen Theologie entspricht eine wissenschaftliche Methode, die beschreibendes und hermeneutisches Vorgehen miteinander verknüpft und relevante Angebote für die kirchliche Praxis herausarbeitet.

What is practical theology? Starting out from the training situation particularly inits second stage, when methodological considerations are coupled with first practical steps, practical theology is understood as a theology of practice . Its subject is, according to Schleiermacher, the communication of faith or in other words, the communication of the Gospel in light of the incarnate word.
The hermeneutic triangle of communicating the Gospel here is understood as a speech act, based upon which the classical Christological themes are analyzed from a linguistic angle. This subject of practical theology is linked to a scholarly methodology which combines descriptive and hermeneutic procedures resulting in pertinent suggestions for the ecclesiastical practice.
