Der vorliegende Sammelband ist der Forschung zu ʿAbd al-Ghanī al-Nābulusī (1641-1731), einem herausragenden Religionswissenschaftler, Sufisten und Literaten aus dem ottomanischen Syrien des 17.-18. Jahrhunderts, gewidmet. Mit einem Schwerpunkt auf einer sorgfältigen Untersuchung von Nābulusīs facettenreicher und bereichernder Schriften bietet der vorliegende Sammelband eine tiefgehende Analyse sowohl seines Denkens als auch seines intellektuellen Umfelds. Die Aufsätze in diesem Band spiegeln das breite Spektrum von Nābulusīs Interessen wider, von Schriftexegese bis Theologie, von Jurisprudenz zur Mystik, von der Philosophie zu Poesie, Ethik und Ästhetik. Der interdisziplinäre Charakter des vorliegenden Bandes trägt zu einer größeren Wertschätzung von Nābulusīs Einfluss auf die diversifizierte intellektuelle und religiöse Geschichte der Welt des Islams im 17. und 18.
