Moralische Grundsätze bedürfen der Sprache. Sprache transportiert ethischen Sinn. Neben explizit ethischen Aussagen wird anhand der Interpretation konkreter neutestamentlicher Texte auch implizit moralische Sprache anhand dreier ineinandergreifender Kategorien analysiert: auf intratextueller Ebene (linguistische und analytisch-philosophische Methoden - syntaktische Form, Stil und Logik), auf textueller oder intertextueller Ebene (Formkritik, Diskursanalyse) und auf extratextueller Ebene (Speech-act Analyse - Rhetorik - Reader-response Criticism). Mit Rekurs auf die analytische Moralphilosophie widmen sich die Beiträge z.B. den Fragen: Worauf basiert die ethische Qualität einer Aussage? Welche linguistischen Mittel befördern die Vermittlung neutestamentlicher Ethik? Welchen Einfluss hat das Genre eines Textes auf dessen ethische Implikationen? Welche Prä- und Intertexte unterliegen ethischen Aussagen und wo lassen sich Referenzen aufzeigen? Welchen ethischen Effekt erzielt der Text beim Adressaten? Welche linguistischen und rhetorischen Mittel werden eingesetzt und mit welcher Intention? Welche Wirkung erzielt ein Text und aus welchen Gründen? Können wir von einem impliziten ethischen Subjekt im Text sprechen?
