As the first academic book series dedicated to the study of prophecy, transmission, and spirituality, "Theology and Tradition in Islam" addresses innovative and highly relevant research fields. In this volume dedicated to his memory, they wish to bear witness to their gratitude and their debt to a fertile work that has borne much fruit, as this volume shows. The studies gathered here focus first on different aspects of Ibn al-Arabi's work, on its antecedents and extensions, and finally on various paths to holiness, right up to our own time. Michel Chodkiewicz was deeply involved in all the fields that are dealt with in this volume, and there could be no better tribute to his memory than to make his intellectual legacy bear fruit.
