Description
Satire is usually understood as a mode of linguistic or visual aggression and social critique, which is why it is often reduced to its communicative function. In contrast, this volume concentrates on forms of satirical representation in relation to its objects. The chapters focus on satire's more liberal aesthetic dynamics, subversive strategies, and self-reflexive dimension.
