Description
Prior to the Arabisation of scientific knowledge in the Near and Middle East, Syriac-speaking Christians cultivated the science of astronomy, as it was taught in Alexandria, in Greek and Syriac. This work celebrates their achievements and makes available texts that had never before been translated into a modern language. It also offers valuable linguistic resources, including a lexicon and criteria for dating these texts.
