Description
The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) is the leading international body representing the interests of library and information services and their users. It is the global voice of the information profession. The series IFLA Publications deals with many of the means through which libraries, information centres, and information professionals worldwide can formulate their goals, exert their influence as a group, protect their interests, and find solutions to global problems. Libraries must also face up to the overall social development towards automation and the use of assistance systems. If robots are adapted for libraries and perhaps even made up once for this purpose, they can become an established service offering, such as the online catalog, the library app or RFID machines. Many possible application scenarios are presented in this volume. Frank Seeliger and Janett Mohnke, Technical Univ. of Applied Sciences, Wildau.
