Full Description
This book presents a comparative study of the locative constituents used in existential constructions: 'il y a' in French, 'hay' in Spanish, and 'c'è' in Italian. The first part discusses their role from a morphological, discursive, semantic, and syntactic point of view. The second part analyzes the syntactic and discursive behavior of different semantic types of locatives in a large textual corpus.
