Die Richtlinien für die OPAC-Anzeige sollen Bibliotheken und ähnlichen Institutionen anregen, die Bildschirmanzeigen ihrer OPACs so zu gestalten, dass diese den Bedürfnissen der Nutzer entsprechen. Diese deutsche Übersetzung der Richtlinien richtet sich an Bibliothekare, die mit der Aufgabe betraut sind, OPAC-Software an Kundenwünsche anzupassen, sowie an Hersteller und Verkäufer dieser Software. Sie sind so konzipiert, dass sie für jede Art von Katalog gelten, unabhängig von der Art der benutzten Schnittstellen und der Technologie.

The purpose of the Guidelines for OPAC Displays is to assist libraries and similar institutions in designing the displays of their OPACs, taking into consideration the needs of users. This German translation of the guidelines is directed at librarians charged with customizing OPAC software and at producers and vendors of this software. The guidelines are intended to apply to any type of catalogue, independently of the kind of interface and technology used.
