Full Description
This is an open access book. It gathers research findings and developments in the fields of microsystems engineering, materials research, system simulation, and control engineering. The chapters cover various combinations of microactuators, inherent sensor properties, and multistable mechanisms, considering the corresponding synergies and coupling effects. In addition, they highlight the resulting new principles and methods for design, manufacturing, and control of cooperative microactuator systems. The contributions originate from the six-year German research program "Cooperative Multistage Multistable Micro Actuator Systems" (in short: KOMMMA), bringing together the expertise of more than thirty scientists. Addressing researchers and graduate students in engineering, materials and micro/nano technologies, this book offers a timely overview of developments in cooperative microactuator systems for applications in mechanics, optics and fluidics.
