Full Description

This book presents short papers of participants of the 11th International Scientific Conference and School for Young Scientists on Physical and Mathematical Modeling of Earth and Environment Processes. The book includes theoretical and experimental studies of processes in the atmosphere, oceans, the lithosphere, and their interaction; environmental issues; problems of human impact on the environment; and methods of geophysical research.

Research on the dynamics of natural systems—including the geosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere, as well as their interactions—alongside the human influence on natural processes, ranks among the most pressing and practically significant scientific challenges today. Advances in these fields have been driven by several key factors. The widespread adoption of computer technology has enabled the simulation and analysis of complex phenomena that were previously beyond reach. Meanwhile, the development and refinement of next-generation geophysical instruments and remote sensing systems—deployed on ships, aircraft, and satellites—have provided vast amounts of observational data, offering an objective representation of these processes.

The studies compiled in this book also highlight the critical role of laboratory modeling in investigating geo-environmental processes and validating newly developed physical and mathematical models. Advances in measurement techniques, optical imaging, and other technologies have opened new possibilities for generating controlled, reproducible laboratory data, fostering the emergence of innovative ideas and concepts. The steady influx of high-resolution experimental data further stimulates the development of analytical and numerical models to better understand dynamic processes across Earth's three major environmental systems.

A special focus is given to the extraction of hydrocarbon resources, including from unconventional sources. The investigations of the dependence of well stability and permeability of rocks on the stress-strain state in conditions of deep horizons and high rock pressure are represented.
