Ryan J. Kennedy, DNP, FNP-C, is the Associate Director of the Brown Clinic for Attention & Related Disorders, a private practice clinic in Manhattan Beach, California. Dr. Kennedy has been practicing in his specialty for over 15 years, collaborating with his mentor, Thomas E. Brown, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist, and Director of the Brown Clinic.
At the Brown Clinic, Dr. Kennedy specializes in performing assessments, conducting diagnostic evaluations, and offering pharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatments for pediatric and adult patients dealing with ADHD and Co-occurring Disorders. He received his Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Quinnipiac University and maintains Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He completed the Master of Psychopharmacology program at the Neuroscience Education Institute. He has also completed training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy through the Beck Institute of CBT, and completed three-years of psychotherapy fellowship training during his doctorate education under the supervision of Dr. Brown, who was Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry/Psychology at the Yale School of Medicine.
Dr. Kennedy has contributed to scientific research studies, presented posters on his research from his clinical practice, and contributed to peer-reviewed journal articles. He is the co-author of several books with Dr. Brown, including the first open-access free eBook published by the World Federation of ADHD.
Dr. Kennedy also provides training for nurse practitioners in primary care and supervision for Pediatric Resident Physicians UCLA Medical School/Hospital. He has presented in over a dozen countries at national and international conferences and universities; he has contributed to scientific research studies, presented posters on his research from his clinical practice, and he is cited for contributions to peer-reviewed journal articles, and Dr. Kennedy has contributed and is co-author to several books published with Dr. Brown, including the first open-access free eBook published by the World Federation of ADHD. Dr. Kennedy actively takes part in speaking engagements and continuing (medical) education for professional healthcare organizations (CANP, NPACE, APSARD, CHADD, AACAP, APA, & AAP), and at university-level and public education workshops and seminars for healthcare practitioners, faculty, and students throughout the United States and abroad.
