Teresa Morgado is Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, Portugal. She is also Researcher in the Unit for Innovation and Research Engineering (UnIRE) at Instituto Politénico de Lisboa and at the Naval Research Center, Almada, Portugal. Her research is in sustainability of materials, structural integrity, manufacturing processes, maintenance management, industry 4.0, and industry 5.0. Dr. Morgado has authored and co-authored dozens of scientific publications in international journals. She has also organized dozens of international and national conferences, specials sessions, and journal special issues. She was Chair of the 5th International Conference on Quality Innovation and Sustainability (ICQIS 2024). 

João M. F. Calado is Head and Associate Professor with Habilitation in Mechanical Engineering at Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa, Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, Portugal. His main research interests include artificial intelligence techniques applied to FDI/FTC, mobile robots, automatic control, intelligent multi-agent approaches, and collaborative networks. He has authored more than 150 scientific papers. 

José Carlos de Sá is Professor at Porto School of Engineering at Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, Portugal and Visiting Professor at the Politechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, Portugal. With over 20 years of industry experience, he has worked as a consultant, manager, and academic in quality and productivity improvement. Dr. Sá is a researcher at the Associate Laboratory for Energy, Transports, and Aerospace (LAETA) and the Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (INEGI). He serves on the editorial board of several journals, including Technological Sustainability and Journal of Applied Research on Industrial Engineering (JARIE), and has published over 120 scientific papers. 

António Abreu is Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (ISEL), Portugal. Before transitioning to the academic world, Dr. Abreu had a successful career in the manufacturing industry, holding management positions. He has published over 150 publications in books, journals, and conference proceedings in areas such as logistics, project management, quality management, open innovation, risk management, and lean management. 

Ivan Galvão is Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (ISEL), Portugal, and Integrated Researcher at the Center for Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Processes (CEMMPRE) at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. His research is in material joining and processing, specifically, welding technology and metallurgy, mechanical behavior of welded joints, solid-state welding of similar and dissimilar materials and solid-state processing of materials. He has published many scientific papers in high-impact journals and conference proceedings and has participated in several international conferences.
