This book examines assassinations in Lebanon from 1951 through 2005, addressing the impunity with which these killings have occurred and the impact of these assassinations on the political environment within the country. One core component of the book is the discussion of accountability and investigations of assassinations in Lebanon, with one full chapter devoted to a broad discussion of accountability and the impact of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon. Another core component of the book is the case study approach—providing in-depth analysis of five assassinations that hold significance for the political landscape of Lebanon.
