Dimitrios S. Vlachos is a Professor at the Department of Economics at the University of Peloponnese, Greece. He was Assistant and Associate Professor in the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications at the same University. He completed his PhD at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens and followed post-doctoral studies at the Institute of Nuclear Engineering of the "Demokritos" Research Center. He also held a research position at the Hellenic Center for Marine Research. His research interests are centered around the discrete variational theory, complex networks, evolutionary algorithms, physical modeling, econo-physics and the modern trends in fintech.

Dimitris Thomakos holds a BA from the Economics Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, and a PhD from Columbia University in New York, USA, specializing in theoretical and applied econometrics. Since 2005, Dr. Thomakos has been an associate professor at the Department of Economics, University of Peloponnese, and was promoted to full professor in July 2009. From 2013 to 2021, he served as Head of the Department of Economics at the University of Peloponnese. Currently, he holds the position of full professor at the Department of Business Administration, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, since March 2021. His research interests include forecasting, time series analysis, quantitative investment strategies, and statistical inference in decision making.
