This book encourages optoelectronic researchers and engineers to exploit innovative nano-photonic applications in next-generation information and communications systems. The authors discuss applications enabled by three forms of nano-photonics: silicon photonics, photonic crystals and surface plasmons, with a view to the development of the defining applications and technologies of tomorrow.
