Le 27 septembre 1900, Pablo Picasso, âgé de 19 ans, arrive à Paris pour s'y établir. Il y demeurera un demi-siècle, changeant plusieurs fois d'adresse et d'atelier, du Bateau-Lavoir de Montmartre au grenier des Grands-Augustins à Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

On 27 September 1900, 19-year-old Pablo Picasso arrives in Paris and spends half a century there, changing his address and atelier several times, beginning with the Bateau-Lavoir in Montmartre and finally to the Grands-Augustins attic in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. From Les Demoiselles d'Avignon to Guernica, it is on the embankments of the Seine that the painter's genius bursts forth and unfolds.
