Now that's enough!
Sauvage ! (Wild!) is the cry of alarm from an enthusiast. In this account, Jérôme Pensu denounces the wildlife trafficking trade in France, which generates millions of euros every year. He explains the mechanisms at work and the techniques used by criminals to make their business thrive. Backed up by specific cases, he highlights the incredible impunity enjoyed by fraudsters.
Sauvage! tells the story of flamingos whose legs are amputated to keep them captive; European birds of prey sold to zoos by care centers; reptiles tortured for the needs of unscrupulous pet shops; seals captured illegally in the wild to enrich aquariums; herds of elephants kidnapped to feed amusement parks... No wild animal is safe.
The whistleblower also talks about solutions that could stop this massacre. According to him, this trafficking is not inevitable. It is up to every citizen to intervene in the public debate to put an end to this scandal, which is harmful to our planet, biodiversity, and the human species.
Jérôme Pensu, 56, has been the manager and founder of several wildlife care centers for over 30 years. He is one of the few experts appointed by the courts, customs, and police in animal trafficking cases.
