Full Description
"How to Read an EEG" is organized in three layers or modules. The first layer simulates an EEG reading session, in which important features of normal and abnormal EEGs from a variety of cases are displayed. The author discusses the common attributes of the identified feature, and reviews the best ways to change the EEG display to optimize interpretation. The DVD includes both text and audio, and all of the questions and answers are accessible as a separate self-assessment quiz. Users can navigate sequentially within each module or jump to a particular in-depth topic at any time. The second layer is didactic - a series of brief "lectures" on EEG reading. The presentations include images and diagrams, as well as text, similar to a slideshow presentation. The focus is on the process of identifying these features, rather than providing a comprehensive atlas of EEG findings. Topics Covered in the Second Module Include: Electrode placement; Montages; Normal EEG features; and, Artifacts.
