Full Description
The sixties and
seventies - a period that changed popular music forever.
A period that made
the transistor radio the most popular electronic communication device of the
age and gave birth to pirate offshore radio stations.
But what was it
actually like to be in the music business in the youth driven cultural
revolution that became to be known as the swinging sixties?
Barry Greenfield's,
'My Journey to Blue Sky' takes the reader on a ride through the halcyon
days of music. Beginning in 1968 auditioning for John Lennon at Apple Records,
and culminating in 1973, working in Hollywood, where he recorded his first LP,
'Blue Sky' with the help of Larry Carlton, Joe Osborn, Jim Gordon, Jimmie
Haskell and David M. Kershenbaum
Barry Greenfield
recorded and performed in Great Britain, Europe, America, and Canada. The Barry
Tales he tells are the intimate moments and interesting details he lived while
he attended 'music school'. His teachers and mentors were Cher, John Lennon,
Harry Nilsson, 10cc, Supertramp, Kenny Rogers, Mike Nesmith and more.
Through the use of
contemporary journals, diaries and the recollections of the people who were
there at the time, Barry paints a vivid picture with a no holds barred
approach. Fast paced, personal, and with heart wide open, Barry Greenfield lays
it all out for the reader to relive his journey to Blue Sky.
If you are a lover
of sixties and seventies music, then for you this is a must read.
