Full Description
Underexposed: Notes From The Pit is a survival guide to music photography in the nineties and beyond, with exclusive photographs of rock and indie music icons. While Britpop exploded over the United Kingdom, the atmosphere of the country changed, as the music industry convinced the masses that the sixties were repeating themselves. Hayley Madden - ABBA fan, teetotal and always last to be chosen for the soccer team - was quietly studying photography at college. Somehow, she ended up working at Britain's premier weekly music magazine - the NME - and was swept up into the media frenzy of the music scene. Armed with just a Nikon, she surfed the wave into the noughties, documenting how the traditional music press suffered a very slow, lo-fi death.
