Full Description
This major text has been conceived by the authors to highlight the wide range of conditions associated with COPD, many of which develop as a consequence of the therapeutic interventions currently employed. With the involvement of the renal, musculoskeletal and immune systems in particular, long-term care of the COPD patient is no longer the responsibility of the pulmonologist alone but involves physicians from a range of clinical specialties. This volumes describes the evolution and progression of these problems and the means by which they should be managed. "COPD as a Systemic Disease" is intended to have broad appeal to respiratory physicians and pulmonologists, specialists in allergy and infectious diseases, as well as members of the research community.
