This local history of Warwickshire (now West Midlands) describes the area known as Solihull Lodge in the Victorian period. The area is part of the village of Shirley. During the 19th century it was an area of meadows, pastures, narrow country lanes, fords, mills - both wind and water, beerhouses and large residences and small cottages.
