Veteran actor Syd Price's life is shattered when he discovers he's about to be unceremoniously written out of the TV soap where he's been a regular since the 1970s. But rather than retire, he has an idea to develop a new TV series. He is unexpectedly befriended by ambitious ex-model and internet sensation, Chloe Anderson, who starred with him in the soap, and now offers to help with his new proposal. Some fifty years his junior, Syd is flattered, at least until he comes to suspect that her true aim is to steal his idea. His thoughts turn to scheming how to get his own back on her.
At the same time, an ex-actor friend of Syd's is struggling to cope with life out of the spotlight - and with losing contact with his own daughter. Syd vows to help with both.
What Syd doesn't envisage is that helping his friend while derailing Chloe will become entangled, leading to changes of plan and impossible choices.
