After surviving a suspicious car crash with his fiancée, Bat-Man uncovers a conspiracy involving the Brotherhood—a cult led by the enigmatic Monk and aided by a young Jonathan Crane. As Gotham's elite fall under the sway of fear and isolationist ideologies, Bat-Man discovers the Monk's true identity.
