When a series of murders and mutilations of female victims throws San Diego into a panic-stricken frenzy, a citywide taskforce is put in place to catch the unknown killer, dubbed the 'Entity' due to his ability to conceal his identity from police, forensic experts and witnesses. That is, until Detective Ed Brooks confronts the killer in an encounter that almost costs Brooks his life. Now, four years later, the Entity murders have started again. But this time, Brooks has the assistance of FBI profiler, Stephanie Morgan. Their close teamwork starts to unravel some startling clues. And a link appears to connect the modern day slayings to ones that happened over a century before in Whitechapel, London. The ones committed by no other than Jack the Ripper. As the body count rises, will Brooks and Morgan finally piece the puzzle together before the killer exacts his revenge?
