Koko Casey was an International Flight Nurse, retrieving critically ill patients from all over the world. She flew many missions and loved her career. Aviation and Critical Care Nursing was her passion. On the night of the 18th of November 2009, she flew her last mission.
The medical jet left Samoa under perfect weather conditions with six people on board, but a storm was brewing ahead as the sky became dark. Something was wrong.
She thought that fighting for her life in the ocean was tough, but it was nothing compared to the long, drawn-out fight for survival back home on land.
This is her story about reclaiming her life after a decade of living in a dark post-trauma limbo. Koko shares her depths of despair, her awakenings and how she climbed out of the vortex of doom to be a survivor today.
Koko now works as a motivational speaker and researcher. She has found her passion again, helping others. She now shares what she has learned with the sole desire to reach people caught in the despair of post-trauma.
