When Sir Darius Brown was eight years old, his older sister helped him improve his motor skill deficits by teaching him how to sew bow ties. A few years later, when he learned about dogs being euthanized due to overcrowding in animal shelters, he realized his skills might be able to help. If he made bow ties for the dogs, they'd look extra cute and, therefore, extra appealing to potential adopters. He soon founded Beaux & Paws, a company that donates one stylish handmade bow tie to an animal shelter for every bow tie sold. He then started the PAWsome Mission, an initiative to help shelter pets find their forever homes by donating bow ties to shelters all over the world, volunteering and participating in adoption events, and spotlighting shelter pets on social media.
