Since the publication of A Practitioner's Guide to Class Actions in the summer of 2010, there have been a number of significant developments in the area of class action law that have prompted a comprehensive supplement to the book. Last term, the U.S. Supreme Court handed down a number of key decisions, including Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. v. Dukes, Smith v. Bayer Corp., and Erica P. John Fund, Inc. v. Halliburton Co. The supplement addresses these decisions, as well as a number of groundbreaking developments throughout the federal and state courts.
