Full Description
"Constitutional Documents of Switzerland 1791-1849" includes approx. 300 (40 national and 260 cantonal) constitutional documents, human rights declarations, and draughts of constitutions that never came into force, from this period. These early constitutional documents were collected and examined in European archives and libraries as part of a project by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation). Using the original documents, Rainer J. Schweizer (University of St. Gall) and Ulrich Zelger (University of St. Gall and Univ. of Zurich) reconstructed the authentic constitutional texts, and annotated them in their respective original languages.
