Full Description
Nursing Involves a continuing series of nurse-patient interactions, and the nurse's effectiveness in identifying and meeting patients' needs ultimately depends upon how sensitive s/he is to what patients are experiencing, how self aware s/he is, and how skillfully s/he observes listens, and responds, both verbally and nonverbally, in interactions with patients. The basis of this series involves the professional caregiver using the nondirective approach, which allows the patient to direct the course of the conversation. The patient helps himself, and the helping person provides a climate in which this is possible, by listening for clues and conveying an attitude of acceptance. Also available as individual programs.
