When Margherita's husband of many years casually announces over dinner that he's leaving her for his mistress, he puts in motion a series of events that will forever alter the course of Margherita's life.
Desperately needing a change of scenery, she sets off for her childhood hometown—and the villa she inherited years ago. Despite her intention to sell the house, once Margherita arrives in the sleepy mountain town, she finds she doesn't want to leave. Soon she begins fixing up the ramshackle villa, exploring the community, and making friends.
While restoring the estate, she unearths deeply buried secrets about the beautiful, mysterious grandmother who left her the house. Can unlocking her family's past give Margherita guidance as she heads into her uncertain future?
