'Wall has done his subject proud' Sunday Times
Reissued as part of White Rabbit's prestigious Deep Cuts series, with a new foreword from Lenny Kaye, comes the fully updated edition of Mick Wall's definitive biography of Led Zeppelin. Written by respected rock writer and former confidant of both Page and Plant, When Giants Walked the Earth features never-before-seen material and exclusive interviews with those who were there at the heart of the band's rise to fame.
It's a story of a band that wrote the rulebook for on-the-road excess - and eventually paid the price for it, with disaster, drug addiction and death. Looking back over the last six decades, Wall unflinchingly tells the story of the band's phenomenal success, fallouts and feuds and the toll this has taken on their lives.
Above all, this is a book that tells the full, shocking story of Led Zeppelin from the inside. For now, it is the closest you'll get to the truth.
'Wall's book is many things - a fan's notes, a glimpse into the recording of each album, a rich chronicle that has the advantage of a long view' LA Times
'The only Led Zeppelin biography I have in my house' Jason Bonham
