This book covers Green Metal-Organic Frameworks (GMOF) synthesis, characterisation, characteristics, and applications. It consists of toxicity evaluations of their solubility control and degradation. The main strategies and developments for the environmentally friendly synthesis of MOFs, including solvent-free synthesis, syntheses employing green solvents (water, ionic liquids, supercritical CO2, PEG), and microwave and ultrasound heating, are addressed. The synthesis of GMOFs is also discussed using Green Linkers and less harmful metals (Zn & Fe) as well as through Bio-based Materials. Chapters also describe the various industrial, biological, and environmental applications of GMOFs. The book also highlights established research and technology on Green Metal-Organic Frameworks (GMOFs) using smart materials, emerging methods, and discuss future research directions.
