Originally published between 1926 and 1986, the volumes in this set bring to life the rich tapestry of the Medieval World across the globe, from cultural, religious and socio-political standpoints. They emphasize just how many of the legal and political institutions we take for granted today have their origins in medieval times.

The volumes in the set:

· Give easy access (in translation from the French and Latin) to the more important documents of political history for the period between the Norman Conquest and the Accession of the House of Tudor.
