Full Description
This book focuses on natural disasters in developing countries. It shows that disaster losses adversely affect humans, society, and ecosystems. Communities in developing countries are affected severely because they lack the necessary resources and suffer from discrimination due to social and political prejudices. Next, it discusses building local, national, and international networks of governments and communities to improve disaster management and sustainability. Last, it introduces ideas of inclusive capitalism, which considers social constraints in determining benefits. This new form of capitalism will replace the current capitalist ideology, which encourages self-interest in its maximization principle with regard only to individual constraints.
