"The Gateway to Arabic" series is designed to teach Arabic in a non-Arabic-speaking environment to learners from a broad age range. This first set of flashcards has been designed to complement "Gateway to Arabic Book One" and "The Key to Arabic Book One", and will help students learn to recognise all the letters of the Arabic alphabet in their isolate and joined forms, the long and short vowel sounds, tanween, shadda, sukoon and the dipthongs -ay and -ow. The pack comprises 64 double-sided cards in full colour, with each card measuring 148 mm by 105 mm.

* Each letter of the Arabic alphabet is represented in its isolate and joined forms with the name of the letter given in English transliteration as a guide to pronunciation * Each letter is also shown with its various phonic vowel sounds, complete with a key to aid correct pronunciation * A number of Arabic words are also included in their isolate and joined forms to encourage the learner to take his/her first steps in reading Arabic.
