Skillstreaming in Early Childhood Lesson Plans and Activities is an engaging skill-building component designed to supplement the curriculum of the highly interactive Skillstreaming in Early Childhood programme. Lesson Plans and Activities provides a comprehensive resource that instructors and school counsellors can use to help children move successfully from skill introduction to confident mastery in real life social situations.
Students can learn important strategies, such as how to set goals, solve problems, develop impulse control, cooperate, anticipate consequences and think aloud. Age appropriate and fun exercises help children refine skills and successfully apply them in complex, human interactions, both in and out of the classroom.
This manual features more than 350 easy-to-use lesson plans and related activities. In addition, there are over 160 printable exercises available for download (link below). Each is designed to help children learn about their feelings and practice healthy social interactions through easily implementable lesson plans. Activities are provided for at least one week of supplementary instruction for each of the 40 skills in the early childhood curriculum.
