Recent years have witnessed a growing interest in issues of representation, power, and identity within the British countryside. Attention has been focused on the ways in which constructs of the rural are bound up with notions of tradition, power, and conformity. This collection brings together authors from different academic backgrounds in an attempt to reveal these "other" rurals.
