Full Description
Based on the author's text second edition, this CD-ROM version deals with the management of patients poisoned by drugs, chemicals or natural toxins. Features include not only common problems but also the more esoteric ones, with a critique of world literature on each toxin. There are five main sections: principles of poison management; drugs; the home; chemicals; and natural toxins. It avoids extrapolating animal data to clinical experience. Animal studies are cited to enhance an understanding of the mechanism of action of toxic effects.
