As people age, the number of health problems and medications tend to increase. This program discusses the physiologic changes brought on by aging, and how these affect the administration of oral and parenteral medications, as well as the administration of IV fluids. Special considerations when teaching older individuals, and increasing safety needs and the problem of polypharmacy are also discussed.
