This autobiography includes chapters on training in the wartime RAF in Hollywood, hob-nobbing with the stars, working closely with Mountbatten on the biography of his parents and travelling with Mountbatten and Prince Philip in the Royal Yacht "Britannia", a stint in publishing and voyaging as far afield as the sub-Antarctic to North Alaska, Pitcairn Island to the Kalahari Desert, to ferret out material for his biographies and maritime histories.;The author also wrote "Battle of Britain: a Jubilee History" and he wrote "Bless Our Ship" together with Denis Richards.
