Full Description
This collection of illustrated text extracts has been selected especially to introduce junior age children to a wide range of text types. "Texts for Sharing: Big Book 1" is appropriate for 7-8 year olds and includes stories with familiar settings, playscripts, reports, instruction, letters, and a range of poetry including shape poems, oral and performance poetry, and humorous poems. Taching ideas by literacy consultant Julie Carr are included, which offer ideas for using the texts in shared and group sessions, and as stimuli for children's own writing.
