This volume is an English translation of Indira Parthasarathy's award-winning Tamil play Ramanujar on the life, ideas and beliefs of Ramanuja. This play attempts to retrieve the social reformer from 'the prision of establishment' and views his life and personality in terms of their contemporary relevance. The play, first published in 1997, was awarded with the prestigious Saraswati Samman. The translators have added a critical introduction and scene-by-scene commentary.
