Consumer Protection Law offers a comprehensive yet accessible account of the major principles that govern consumer transactions in Australia. The focus of this text is the legislation, principally the Trade Practices Act 1974, but where appropriate reference is made to the equivalent Fair Trading legislation, the Sale of Goods Acts, with individual chapters devoted to the Consumer Credit Codes, and the consumer protection provisions in respect of financial services and financial products contained in the Corporations Act 2001 and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001.
