Full Description
Writing Prose is designed to acquaint students with the techniques of good prose through a range of writing samples including classics, such as Swift's 'A Modest Proposal', as well as contemporary essays by lesser-known authors. Ranging in length from short paragraphs to complete essays, the readings are grouped according to traditional rhetorical categories-exposition, argument, description, and narration, along with definition, persuasion, and 'writingabout writing'.
